Stella is a Pit Bull / Labrador / Shar Pei mix who loves people (especially children), sticks, and treats! She is the daughter of Curley, a rescued dog. My friend found Curley on the streets of Baltimore and took her home -- she rewarded him by giving birth to eight puppies in his kitchen! I picked Stella out at two weeks because of her temperament (and white socks) and brought her home at two months. While she can be stubborn and overly enthusiastic, she is gentle with children and very cuddly and loving. She kisses everyone -- whether they like it or not -- and is in a constant state of happiness. I didn't know I could love a dog this much and although she tests me constantly with her smarts and her will, I couldn't imagine my life without her.
Look at 'em eyes to hard to resist! - your dog is so cute, america pit bull/labrador mixes are really precious. Oh and did you say shar pei?! wow that's quite a breed!!! love u Stella!!

Isn't Stella just the most outstanding looking girl. Can't quite wrap my head around her proportions, but she looks like a big, beautiful girl with the personality of a comedienne! I'd love to know more of her momma's rescue story. Is Curley OK ... all spayed and adopted now? I also pray that all her babies found forever, loving homes like Miss Baltimore, here! Bless 'em all. It seems that Stella, like my Wolfenstein, proves the rules that a Mom loves the most mischievious ones the best! They do make life a constant entertainment! She is a real beauty. Love her from us, and ton of biscuits!

I gave her 11 biscuits for the tongue. If her toungue wasn't that long she wouldv'e gotten 10. Sooooo cute.

Oh that face...what a sweetheart. Our shepherd has a tounge like that too, makes you wonder how they fit it all back in their mouth. Stella sounds like she can be a lil too smart for her own good sometimes hehe but how could she be so special if she didn't keep you on your toes :)

Thanks everybody for your wonderful comments. Stella's sister had the "doggie DNA" test so I am pretty sure about the breed- DEFINITELY the Lab & Pit parts, and she is showing some characteristics of a Shar Pei as well (like guarding my yard). She's almost 11 months old, over 60 lbs, and about 20" tall at the back, so not a really big dog- just a very solid one. And very athletic- she needs a minimum of 1 hour exercise a day including a 1 mile+ walk in the evening. Her mom was adopted by my friend who found her, and now lives a life of luxury in an apartment on Baltimore's Inner Harbor (a far cry from being abandoned & pregnant on the city streets, yes?). My friend also had all 7 of the other puppies spoken for by 6 weeks old, and keeps track of them all by regularly checking in. While Stella is willful and can drive me crazy, she is also the most friendly and loving dog I have ever met- she has kisses and a wiggly butt/tail for everyone she meets. The greetings when I come home are so enthusiastic it makes me laugh out loud. I just love her!
