Brock the Staffordshire Terrier
Brock's mom says: My partner and I have always wanted a staffy, but in the past we have rented apartments where having pets was prohibited. Late last year we finally purchased our first home, and as a Christmas present to ourselves we got Brock. He is affectionately known by a few nicknames such as Brocky, Brock-Choy and Brocket the pocket rocket. However, he is actually named after Australian Motor Sport Racing Champion, the late Peter Brock. He was the runt of the litter, but interestingly he was not the smallest. We immediately connected with him, as he stood out from his litter mates when he put his little paw up in the air and cried to be picked up. We also adored the brindle coloring through his black coat, which beared a strong resemblance to my beloved childhood dog (a Bullmastiff/Staffy X) who passed away in May 2006 whom lived to the ripe ol' age of 16. Brocky is the most social little puppy you will ever meet, and taking him for "walkies" is quite the mission impossible. He simply must stop and 'chat' to every person and animal he meets along the way, which basically involves a LOT of licking and tail wagging ! Brocky is cheeky and affectionate, and loves hanging out with his mummy and daddy and joining in with whatever they're doing - especially watching tv! He enjoys playing fetch, tug of war, and running around like a headless chook - whether it be in the house or yard. After these bouts of craziness he becomes an instant lounge lizard and crashes regularly for long naps! But what Brock loves most of all is receiving lots of pats and belly rubs, and he makes a funny high-pitched whine if we momentarily stop the rubs - which we believe means "Don't stop, more please!".

Hard to choose a fave pic- the one where he's boldly exploring in the trees, the sweet sleepy-puppy shot complete with bellly and cute little tongue, the innocent pillow and stuffed animal shot... in the end I had to go with the head-thru-the bars shot, because it just SCREAMS "if you come closer i will give you puppy kisses!" Thanks for sharing your baby, love these little guys ;)

What an absolutely precious little face!!! His coat is beautiful. I am always a sucker for the tongue sticking out. I just don't think I could ever stop loving on this little fella. 11 biscuits doesn't do you justice, Brock!

You are a cute little Aussie bundle Brock or "Brocky". Love Staffies and their unusual high-pitched noises. Brocky, you will have many people around the world wondering what you do when you run around "like a headless chook", but keep them guessing. We all know don't we? I was having trouble deciding which picture to choose until I saw this last one. This guy melts my heart. Thank you for explaining his coloring, I was afraid until I read the explanation that there was something wrong when in fact his coloring is wonderful. He is a beautiful boy - all the very best with him for a long, long time.

Oh, yeah!! We're all about puppies at my house these days! Congratulations on taking great photos of a black puppy! Although my blonde puppies take great shots, I've only by accident caught the facial expressions on the black puppies. Anyway, Mr. Brock is just a delight and I can feel his chubbicity right through my 'pooter screen! He'd have a blast playing with our lot. I'm thinking that a "headless chook" is the Canadian version of "like a chicken with it's head cut off"?? Love da' puppy ... man, those little toads get to you don't they?? Hope my photo attaches ... the one in the trees. As you say you gave yourself the Brockster for Christmas .... and you have grass .... safe to assume he's not a Canadian puppy!! Bless 'em all!

What a wonderful pup - he sounds delightful! I had an Am Staff x for over 16 yrs and he was the best dog I ever had - and mind you, I do love all my dogs! Yay, a staffy! Thank you for sharing these photos of your beautiful Brock. He looks so much like our Joe when he was a baby. Joe is 9 years old now, also a black brindle. He still charges head first into everything he does and he still whines whenever we stop petting him. But he gives us so much love we don't mind what a spoilt brat he is! ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE PICTURES! We have a brindle staffy boy who is now 2 yrs old and these look just like his baby pictures! Now his brindle is sooooo gorgeous! And he is the most obedient, loving, playful, silly dog I ever met....simply wants to please you any way he can and, weighing just over 50 lbs, he STILL wants to cuddle under your chin and hug like that tiny little puppy he used to be! Enjoy your sweetheart! I give him all eleven biscuits (and kisses too)!
Oh my gosh! What is this? Why its a delicious little wild piglet emerging from a foresty grove!!! Adorable!!! He is such a sweet little fellow, and truly looks like a little black piglet. I want to squeeze and kiss him all over!! Staffies are absolutely wonderful dogs, I don't care what ill-informed people say. Sweet as honey, and very devoted. Incredibly social and people oriented dogs. For all the years I've spent volunteering at my local SPCA in the exercise and rehabilitation program for dogs, Pit bulls and staffies have given me so much pleasure and very little difficulty. they are so responsive and willing to please. Now smother this little ham hock with all the love you can muster, and he'll return it ten fold. He deserves no less!!! what a precious baby, love and laughter to the lot of you:)

Brock is just as cute and photogenic as can be. Congratulations on your first puppy, and a great one he is. I chose this photo because I had a black pug whos photo I took looking through the iron bars on the porch; also, I too like the tongue. Whenever my little pug visited the vet, he would always say he wanted to borrow her for his Christmas cards so she could lick the envelopes because her little tongue would always stick out. I loooove your wee little piglet of a puppy. His pudgy belly is too adorable for words and that face! I knew a staffie from the pound my sister worked at and he was the sweetest dog there. he got adopted in like, a day.
