Mogley the Standard English Goldendoodle
Mogley's mom says: Meet Mogley. He is the perfect new addition to our family. He is a standard English Goldendoodle we found from a breeder in California. Mogley was born in the sun, but he sure loves the snow. He loves to romp, roll and smash his face in big snow piles. He is a calm, gentle puppy but still loves to play. He loves our French Bulldog "Munch," and they can play for hours on end. Potty training is coming right along, and he has already learned to sit and lay down. He is such a cute, smart boy, and we feel lucky to have him as part of our family.
Wow, Mogley is SUCH a cutie!!!! I love the name too! I love The Jungle Book! :P I lovvve his floppy/curly ears! Him and Munch are quite possibly the cutest pair i've ever seen!!

So what makes an English goldendoodle? I understand the standard part means bred with a standard poodle but don't see where the English comes from. He's a doll in any event. I have a Gollie pup...golden and collie. He'd love to play with Mogley. Shall we set up a play date?
FYI. Did you know in Australia, the breed would be known as a groodle? I love you dog by the way. I wish I could see my dog in the snow ...
did some reading to understand the Doodle Differences, found online...
"Teddybear Goldendoodles or English Goldendoodles are produced by breeding English Goldens to Poodles. One of the main differences between an American Golden and an European ?English? Golden is the temperament . They are much more laid back, and are very calm. English Goldens also have a different bone structure and a softer coat type, they are ultra cream colored. English Goldens have also been said to be less predisposed to the genetic diseases of the American Golden Retrievers.
By breeding Teddybear Goldendoodles the desire is to produce a very blocky headed, Golden Retriever-like Doodle, with less emphasis on the Poodle. English Goldens imported from Europe have a very blocky head, lots of bone, they are a bit shorter, with a broader chest, and they compliment the sleek, narrow headed Poodle. This combination typically produces a Goldendoodle that has a beautiful blocky "extreme" Teddy Bear looking Head, with possibly even less shedding than the American Goldendoodles. "

Puppy's are so cute in the snow. It tires them out good. My favorite part is when they come back in and get cleaned up they are ready to snuggle.

Mogley's gorgeous, but what is a "Standard English Goldendoodle"? I know a goldendoodle is a golden retriever & a poodle, and I assume "standard" means that the poodle side is a standard poodle, but what about the "English" part? Is there some English Setter mixed in? I can't keep up with all these new hybrid breeds... !!

He's a lovely dog - but why do Americans have to think they can improve on everything - I'm a vet and I hate all these so called 'new' breeds - The dogs are fine but the owners and more so the breeders need to get a grip on things - This dog looks fine but what are the inherent diseases in both breeds?????? He's a great dog and I hope he has a long and healthy life - Please think before you breed.
I agree with the vet, about trying to improve on things! Leave the breeds alone!

A poodle and a golden combination that is going to be an intelligent dog, since both of them are smart in general. He is cute though. I wish they didn't shed at all and no dander. What a darling - I love his big paws and this gangly pic. But to Mary11390, if you are a vet how can you not be in favour of cross breeding? It doesn't increase the risk of hereditary diseases it decreases them by widening the gene pool.

They are both gorgeous. i have to admit that before seeing Mogley, i didn't realise you could get a Goldendoodle, and now i have seen him and my heart has melted with love for the breed. I also love Frenchies and you are very lucky to have them both.

[color=red]To start of with, i have to admit that i [i]had[/i] never heard of a Goldendoodle before. I have a Labradoodle at home (called Chino) but i never knew you could get a Goldendoodle. But, i have fallen completely in love with the breed.
Mogley is an amazing name, by the way, and i think he is ADORABLE!!! Never have i ever seen such an innocent and loveable face. His expressions are priceless.
You people are very lucky to have him as a part of your family.
So as not to leave him out, I also love Munch. As well as my Labradoodle, (and various other dogs) I also have a Frenchie called Hank who is wonderful and I'm sure that Mogley and Munch are going to have such fun together.
